Tape-ins, fusion, hand-tied…what does it all mean? There are so many different styles of extensions and terms, that it can get overwhelming if you are new to the world of hair extensions. Although Length specializes in luxury hand-tied extensions we offer other extensions for clients looking for different options. Read on to learn more and find out if a different type of extension method is a better fit for you!
Great Length Extensions
Great Lengths Fusion hair extension method is a method that uses cold fusion and a patented protein polymer bond to ensure a quick and simple application. Bonds are made from synthetic keratin mimicking the molecular structure of natural keratin found in human hair and skin, basically, the bond mimics your natural hair and is flexible, so that it can expand and contract with your hair as you wash and dry it.
When maintained properly, the application will not damage your hair. We recommend removal and replacement of hair every 3 to 5 months, depending upon the type of application performed (i.e. lengthening, volumizing, etc), the state/condition of your natural hair, and lifestyle.

Tape-Ins
Tape in hair extensions are exactly what they sound like. The extensions are pre-taped and then aligned with the roots of your hair and taped/glued together on either side of your own hair.
Tape-ins are considered semi-permanent. Typically, they last 4 – 8 weeks before you need to remove and re-apply them. Just like any other hair, however, it depends on the state of your natural hair, how well you take care of them, your lifestyle, and how quickly your hair grows.
